Initial Attempt

Rarely do I attempt,
Unless exceptionally moved,
To cobble together something that
Has any resemblance to a poem.
I am not the poet around here--
Everyone knows that.

I don't know how to go about it,
Search for words that are interesting,

Put them together in a way that
Relieves the boredom,
Eases the monotony,
Gets through language to some sort of
Notion of what's going on inside.
And the lack of practice shows.
No matter, though. The
Attempt may be enough,
