I am Alive

Seems like most of the time I've had these days has been spent baby-wrangling -- hence the lack of bloggery. Our one-on-one days have been tough in recent weeks, but this morning, for the first time, he's taking a good Nap Number One, which Ruthie thinks is the key to a good day.

I hope she's right...

My Pa

We went to Dale & hannaH's tonight to celebrate Cassie's first birthday. We'd been there long enough that the Wonton had been fed his carrots and been passed among the six of us sufficiently when I thought I'd relieve Ruthie and hold him for a bit -- he looked so cute.

And then he barfed on me.

A really lot. All over my shirt and under my shirt and it was orange and gee, didn't it smell like vomit.

I went to the bathroom to mop up and Dale got me a clean shirt to wear and when I resumed my seat in the living room I noticed that my dad looked more tickled than I'd seen him recently.

I caught his eye and his grin widened into a bona fide smile and he said, "I've been waiting for thirty years to see that happen."

We're Off

Pittsburgh and then Toronto. Don't know if I'll be able or inclined to blog while we're away -- try to muddle through.

My Internet's been Down

But I haven't.

Read the Harry Potter book. How long do we have to wait for the next one?

Ruthie and I will leave Wednesday for Pittsburgh (and a game @ PNC, one of my favorite places) and then onto Toronto with our friends the Gills. We'll see the Yankees play the Blue Jays three times @ Skydome and Ruthie's boss says the best Chinese restaurant in the world (that's what he says) is in Toronto -- maybe we'll find it.

Any KISS fans out there?
