i'd love to have a much longer conversation with you about this than is probably appropriate here. was listening to colin cowherd on espn radio the other day and he stated that his main criteria in considering a potential hall of famer, above stats and everything else, was 'can you tell the story of baseball without this guy?' i think that's a good way of looking at it. your thoughts?
I think that's great. It's the first approach I've heard that acknowledges that, despite baseball's obsession with statistics, the game is about stories, not raw information. You know...like Life.
